1. | What are Dam & Qurban? | Dam is the sacrificial animal from the category of an'am (quadrupedal animals) that is slaughtered or which equivalent is paid in terms of food or fasting for certain reasons by those performing hajj and umrah. Hajj pilgrims who perform hajj through the methods of Tamattu' or Qiran are required to pay Dam Tertib and Taqdir.
The Qurban ritual refers to the act of sacrificing al-An’am animals to seek closeness to Allah S.W.T. This is carried out during the celebration of Eid al-Adha on the 10th of Zulhijjah and the days of Tasyrik on the 11th, 12th, and 13th of Zulhijjah. |

3. | Can the transaction amount for Dam/Qurban be refunded after the transaction has been successful? |
The payment debited from the TH depositor's savings account for the purpose of the Dam and Qurban payment is final and cannot be refunded. If there is any excess from the payment amount due to factors such as foreign currency exchange rates or changes in the cost of third-party management, the excess will be channeled to the Malaysian Hajj Pilgrims Welfare Fund ("Tabung Kebajikan Jemaah Haji Malaysia" or "TKJHM") to be utilized as best as possible (based on the terms and conditions agreed upon by the Prospective Pilgrim). |

4. | Why are the Dam and Qurban services provided in the homeland? |
With the availability of the Dam and Qurban payment services through the THiJARI application and in the Homeland, prospective Hajj pilgrims especially those who will perform Tamattu' or Qiran Hajj are given the opportunity to fulfill one of their obligations by paying the Dam in advance to ease arrangements in the Holy Land. TH depositors are also given the opportunity to carry out the Qurban ritual in the Holy Land. |

The Dam payment option is available exclusively to Hajj Pilgrims for the current year, whereas Qurban payments are open to all TH depositors. |

Can prospective pilgrims make Dam payments in the homeland even if they have not yet intended to perform Hajj? |
Prospective pilgrims are allowed to make Dam payments in their Homeland even if they have not yet performed niat Hajj or have not performed Umrah. This decision was approved by the TH-JAKIM Hajj Worship Advisory Committee in 2014. | ||||||||||||||||

However, for those who have constraints, they can still go to the branch office for Dam and Qurban payment transactions via TH savings account debit. Prospective Pilgrims and TH depositors must ensure that their account balance is sufficient as the payment will be deducted from their TH savings account.
