Opening an Account
Opening a TH account is simple and can be done at all TH Counters & TH Mobile Branches, TH Strategic Partners (Bank Islam & Bank Rakyat), and TH Community.
Terms:
- Must be a Muslim and of sound mind.
- Must be a Malaysian citizen.
There are two account categories:
Adult Account
- Must be 18 years or older, according to the date of birth.
- Must present an identification document (MyKAD) during registration.
Junior Account
- Must be under 18 years of age, according to the date of birth.
- The legal guardian is subject to the Child Protection Act 2001, the Guardianship of Infants Act 1961, and the Adoption Registration Act 1952.
- The guardian must have a TH account and be a Malaysian citizen.
- Only one guardian is allowed per account.
- The guardian must bring the original and copies of the following documents:
- Birth Certificate
- Identification document of the child under guardianship (MyKAD or MyKID)
- Guardian’s identification document
NOTE :
- Guardians are advised to convert the Child Account to an Adult Account when the child under guardianship reaches 18 years of age. This account status change can be done at any TH branch office by the child’s guardian, and the depositor must be present with the guardian during the account conversion.
- Guardians can only manage accounts for children under 18 years of age.
- Guardians must convert the Child Account to an Adult Account when the child reaches 18 years of age.
