Virtual Account Opening (VAO) is an online application platform to open TH account for adult and trustee (child) via THiJARI.
VAO Terms And Conditions

- Account Types
- Adult Accounts
- Savings account for depositors aged 18 years and above.
- Junior Account Under Guardianship
- Savings accounts for depositors under the age of 18 years.
- This account shall be regulated by a guardian.
- Adult Accounts
- Wakalah
- The depositors appoint TH as a representative to manage their funds in TH's account without being bound by any terms other than those prescribed and in accordance with the Tabung Haji Act 1995.
- Depositors may deposit and withdraw money from TH's account in accordance with the TH Act and in accordance with the Tabung Haji (Deposit and Withdrawal) Regulations, any amendments and procedures that have been prescribed in TH.
- Depositors receive distributed profit from TH's investment activities after deducting TH management costs, Hajj costs and zakat, always subject to TH meeting the relevant requirements under the Tabung Haji Act 1995.
- Conditions for Becoming a Guardian of Junior Accounts
- Guardians (of TH junior accounts) are limited to legal guardians based on the definition according to the Children Act 2001, the Child Care Act 1961 and the Registration of Adoption Act 1952 only, as listed below :-
- Birth parents.
- By a deed or a will that has been confirmed by Court Order.
- Adoptive parents (with proof of adoption certificate and adoption registration certificate from the National Registration Department).
- Any person who has lawful guardianship of the child by Court Order.
- Only one account and one guardian are allowed.
- The guardian must have a TH account.
- Conversion of a junior account to an adult account.
- Guardians can only administer the accounts of children under 18 years of age only.
- The guardian shall convert the child's account to an adult account when the child reaches the age of 18 years.
- The guardian of the child's account and the child under his care must present at the TH counter by submitting the original documents as follows:-
- Identity card of a child who has reached the age of 18 years.
- Guardian's identity card.
- Guardians (of TH junior accounts) are limited to legal guardians based on the definition according to the Children Act 2001, the Child Care Act 1961 and the Registration of Adoption Act 1952 only, as listed below :-
- Deposit
- The minimum initial deposit amount when opening an account is RM2.00.
- Deposits can be made in cash or non-cash at counters and electronic channels authorized by TH.
- Deposits can be made by third parties to any TH depositor account.
- Withdrawal
- Withdrawals can be made in cash, non -cash and money transfers at counters and electronic channels authorized by TH.
- Depositors must be present in person when making withdrawals at any withdrawal channel.
- Withdrawal of inheritance for deceased depositors can be done by the heirs through nomination or power of attorney as determined by TH.
- Account Adjustments
- TH may freeze and reconcile the accounts involved for the purpose of protecting TH from the risk of loss.
- Government Guarantee
- Every ringgit deposited in TH is guaranteed by the Government of Malaysia.
- Payment of Zakat
- TH pays zakat on behalf of the depositors and the depositors no longer have to pay zakat on their savings in TH. This amount of zakat is not deducted from the individual account balance of each TH depositor and the official receipt individually is not issued by TH.
- Profit Distribution
- Depositors agree to receive the distribution of profits from TH's investment activities after deducting TH management costs, Hajj costs and zakat, always subject to TH meeting the relevant requirements under the Tabung Haji Act 1995.
- Hajj Registration
- Hajj registration must be made separately after opening a TH account according to the terms and conditions set.
- Changes to terms, conditions and rules
- TH reserves the right to add, repeal, amend, or change any of the terms and conditions and rules at any time without first consulting the depositor. The change will take effect when it is communicated to the depositor through any means of delivery deemed appropriate by TH.
- Compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010
- The depositor agrees to give consent to TH to process personal data as stated in TH Privacy Notice and pursuant to the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
- TH shall not disclose the depositor's personal data to any external parties except as stated in TH Privacy Notice and pursuant to the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

AKAD WAKALAH
- Acknowledgement
- I hereby agree to deposit money into my TH account based on the Wakalah contract and appoint TH as a representative to manage the savings in my TH account without being bound by any terms other than thoseprescribed and in accordance with the Tabung Haji Act 1995.
- I agree to abide by all the Terms and Conditions contained herein.
- I will review the record of the transaction made and notify TH within 14 days if there is any doubt and/or error.
- When I withdraw all balance in the account, the account will be closed.
- Freezing and Closing of accounts
- TH reserves the right to freeze my account, if TH receives written notice from me or any authorized party.
- TH reserves the right to close my account if it is at any time found to be in violation and/or non-compliance with any rules and laws in force.
- I agree that if I close my TH account, I am only entitled to the amount that has been credited to my TH account after deducting the cost of closing the TH account.
- Changes to Personal Information
- I am responsible for informing TH if there is a change in my personal information from time to time.
- THiJARI
- I agree that TH shall not be liable for any claims and liabilities of any kind whatsoever (directly or indirectly) as a result of my own use or misuse of the Personal Identification Number (PIN), my own disclosure of the PIN to others and my negligence in maintaining the confidentiality of this PIN.
- I am responsible for ensuring that my password is not exposed to third parties that might cause misappropriation of my TH account.
- Inactive Account
- If my account has been inactive for 7 years or more, my account is categorized as inactive and TH reserves the right to manage my account accordingly in accordance with laws and regulations, in accordance with the Tabung Haji Act 1995.
- Hibah Amanah TH and Inheritance Claims
- acknowledge and direct TH that, upon my death, my savings in TH shall be paid to the Nominee/Grantee of Hibah Amanah TH.
- acknowledge that the appointed Nominees are of entitled heirs only. As the Nominee, she/he represents my heirs and when the money is received, he shall distribute the money according to Shariah Jurisprudence.
- Any inheritance claim or Hibah Amanah TH is subject to TH's existing rules and procedures.

What is the final step to activate the account? |
Adult account – Upon successful submission of VAO, you are required to visit your preferred or any TH branches for the verification and activation of TH account applied. You need to bring MyKad and RM2.00 being minimum initial deposit. Trustee (child) account- Upon successful submission of Trustee VAO, the guardian needs to visit the preferred or any TH branches for the verification and activation of TH account applied. You need to bring the following documents:
