PULAU PINANG, 26 August 2020 - Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) today handed over TH Zakat amounting to RM3,447,686.44 for the financial year ending 2019 to Zakat Pulau Pinang in a brief ceremony in Seri Mutiara, the Official Residence of His Excellency Tun Dato' Seri Utama ( Dr.) Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Abbas, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang.

His Excellency the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang received TH Zakat payment from YBhg. Dato ’Sri Syed Saleh Syed Abd Rahman, Executive Director (Haji) TH. The zakat contribution for the state of Penang recorded an increase in comparison to 2018 (RM3,446,420.49).

This year, TH further strengthened its responsibilities with the implementation of the Zakat Program targeted at the needy through the organization of programs in the form of education, welfare and community. This initiative is also expected to have a double positive impact on the asnaf group.

Also present at the ceremony were YB Dato' Ir. Haji Ahmad Zakiyuddin bin Abd Rahman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zakat Pulau Pinang (ZPP); Tuan Haji Amran Hazali, Chief Executive Officer of ZPP; YB Dato’ Abdul Razak bin Jaafar, Penang State Secretary; Tuan Haji Mohamad bin Abas, State Director of TH Pulau Pinang; members of the board of directors of ZPP and members of TH.
