Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) paid over RM4.4 mil of business zakat 2014 to the Johor Religious Council.

TH Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Tan Sri Ismee Ismail handed over the business zakat to DYMM Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar who accepted the zakat on behalf of the State Religious Council (MAIJ) at Istana Bukit Serene on Thursday.

This year zakat saw an increment of 8.2 percent compared to RM4.3 million paid in 2013. Johor is the first state in this TH zakat distribution this year.

This year was a historical year for TH as the organisation allocated more than RM49 million as business zakat following a good financial performance.

TH discharges business zakat yearly and it would be distributed to recipients all over the country.
