Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) paid over RM2 million of its 2014 business zakat to the Penang State’s Religious Council (MAINPP) in a presentation ceremony at Seri Mutiara, Pulau Pinang.

TH Deputy Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, YBhg Dato’ Johan Abdullah presented the zakat to Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Dr. Haji Abdul Rahman Haji Abbas, Penang Di- Pertua Negeri, who received the zakat on behalf of MAINPP.

This year zakat payment saw an increment of 8.3 percent compared to RM1.8 million paid in 2013. Penang is the second state after Johor in this TH zakat distribution of the year.
