How will TH select the Hajj Pilgrims if the quota is reduced? |
- "The Hajj quota set by the Government of Saudi Arabia for Malaysia for the 1443H/2022M Hajj Season is 14,306 people.
- The Malaysian Hajj quota for the 1443H/2022M season is 45% of the 2019 official quota of 31,600.
- The reduction of the Malaysian Hajj Quota is based on the decision by the Government of Saudi Arabia to limit to only 1 million Hajj Pilgrims for the Hajj Season of 1443H/2022M, with a ratio of 85% of them from outside of Saudi Arabia.

If the quota is reduced and I am not selected despite being given priority, will I still be given priority for 2022? |
- For those who appealed for Hajj this year, consideration of the appeal is based on the conditions and criteria set including the total Hajj quota approved by the Government of Saudi Arabia as well as other conditions related to the latest Hajj regulations and SOPs. Due to the limitation of quotas, mahram appeals will be given priority.
- The selection of prospective pilgrims for 2023 will depend on the quota given by the Government of Saudi Arabia and the available vacancies.

What are the criteria set by the Government of Saudia Arabia for Prospective Hajj to perform Hajj? |
- All Hajj Prospects this year will have to complete three doses of Covid-19 vaccine recognized by the Government of Saudi Arabia. It is also in line with the guidelines issued by the Government of Malaysia.
- Prospective Hajj pilgrims must be 64 years old and below as stipulated by the Government of Saudi Arabia.
- Prospective Hajj must perform a PCR test with a negative status 72 hours before their Hajj flight departs. However, for Malaysian Hajj Prospects, the PCR test period is set at 48 hours before the flight time. This is taking into consideration the reporting and possible delays in departure.

Does Prospective Hajj requires vaccination shot other than the Covid-19 vaccine? |
- Meningococcal vaccine - Hajj Prospects must get this injection which is given for free after passing a health examination at a Government health facility (Ministry of Health Malaysia)
- However, if Prospective Hajj wants to get this mandatory meningococcal injection at a private health facility, the cost of this vaccine shall be borned by Porspective Hajj himself.
- For additional pneumococcal and influenza vaccine injections - these two vaccines are highly recommended as additional protection and are only available at private health facilities. The cost of these vaccines shall be borne by the Hajj Prospects themselves.

Does a Prospective Hajj need to get a vaccination other than the Covid-19 vaccine? |
- Currently, the Government of Saudi Arabia only accept 10 types of Covid-19 vaccine, which are as follows:

What is TH's preparation in the event of a Covid-19 infection among the Congregation in the Holy Land? |
- TH and the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) have always been on top of all that is related to the welfare and health of the pilgrims.
- TH and MOH have developed a number of standard operating procedures (SOP) in the Homeland and the Holy Land to be followed by every pilgrim as well as the Official Malaysian Hajj Entourage.
- However, management of health cases and Covid-19 in the Holy Land is subject to health protocols and directives by the Government of Saudi Arabia.

Will TH add health workers to curb Covid-19 among the Congregation? |
- TH have always been working closely with the Ministry of Health Malaysia in providing the the best and adequate Medical Entourage for the trip to the Holy Land.
- The increase of Medical Entourage is subject to the protocol and health directives of the Government of Saudi Arabia.
- However, the current Medical Delegation staff who have been selected this year are all experienced in CoViD-19 case management.

Are Prospective Hajj with chronic illnesses allowed to perform Hajj this year? |
- Prospective Hajj who suffer from chronic diseases are high risk and unstable do not meet the obligatory requirements of Hajj (health istito'ah).
- Only individuals with chronic illnesses who have been confirmed stable and passed a health examination are allowed to perform Hajj this year.

Does a Prospective Hajj need to undergo a screening test and is the expense of this screening test borned by TH? |
- A Prospective Hajj needs to undergo a RT-PCR Covid-19 screening test 54 hours before the flight at any government clinics or private health facilities.
- The expenses of the screening test shall be borne by the Prospective Hajj if conducted in a private facility.

OFFER LETTER |
When will the offer letter be issued? |
- The 1442H/2021M Hajj offer letter will be issued this Monday on the 25th April 2022 and this offer letter can also be accessed through THiJari application.
- Selected Hajj candidates are given a period of seven working days from the date of the letter to respond to the offer for pilgrimage this year.
- All Hajj is requested to cooperate with TH to expedite the confirmation to the offer letter within seven working days. It is recommended for the Prospective Hajj to download the THiJARI application to provide feedback digitally.

HAJJ FEES & PAYMENT |
Will the Hajj fees remain this year? |
- Hajj payments for first-time Muassasah pilgrims will be RM10,980 for B40 groups as announced this year, while for the non B40 groups is at RM12,980.
- Prospective Muassasah pilgrims that has performed Hajj before has to pay in full the cost of current Hajj cost which is RM25,540 per person.

How much has the cost of pilgrimage increased so far with the new norm due to Covid-19? |
- Hajj costs has increase this year compared to last year as there are some factors beyond TH's control such as the introduction of multiple new taxes including Value-added Tax (VAT) increase from 5% to 15%, foreign exchange rate, Hajj visa charges and inflation rate in Saudi Arabia, and the development in Makkah and Medina.

What are the significant changes will the Hajj Pilgrims face this year in terms of accommodation, logistics and pilgrimage in the Holy Land? |
- Based on the observations of the hajj implementation since the past 2 years and the current umrah protocols, pilgrims are advised to always wear face masks, maintain social distancing and cleanliness.
- In addition to the THiJARI application, Prospective Hajj will need to download the Saudi Arabian application, i.e. Tawakkalna and Eatmarna to facilitate their affairs in the Holy Land.

How long will the Pilgrims be in the Holy Land? |
- The duration of the pilgrimage in the Holy Land will take around 42 to 45 days.

What is TH's recommended method for the pilgrims to perform Hajj this year? |
- TH does not prescribe a specific way to perform the Hajj.
- Hajj pilgrims can choose how to perform Hajj (Tamattu'/ Ifrad/ Qiran) according to the date of arrival in the Holy Land as well as the relevant rules set by the Government of Saudi Arabia.
- Prospective Hajj pilgrims should go through the Hajj course to get authentic Hajj knowledge and the latest Hajj information.

How is the implementation of the Perdana Haji Course this year? |
- The Perdana Haji course is being planned to be held physically on the 3rd and 4th week of Syawal.
- TH will send an invitation to the course for those that have been chosen.

HAJJ PACKAGES |
Will there be private companies managing Hajj packages this year? |
- Only licensed Hajj Organizers (PJH) can offer Hajj packages based on the Hajj Fund Act. This year, TH has issued licenses to a total of 21 companies. TH has also announced this list on March 25, 2021 and it is available on the TH website.
