PUTRAJAYA, 21 July 2020 - Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) today attended the Corporate Zakat Ceremony (Majlis Zakat Korporat) and Zakat Certificate Presentation Ceremony organized by PPZ MAIWP at the Everly Hotel, Putrajaya. The event was attended by 14 PPZ MAIWP corporate zakat payers, who received TH Corporate Zakat Payment 2019 Certificate.

The event was held to encourage other corporate organisations to pay business zakat. Between the period of January to June 2020, PPZ MAIWP collected zakat amounting to RM58,171,023.19, showing an increase of 8 percent from last year.

The TH Management was represented by YBhg. Dato' Sri Syed Salleh Syed Abdul Rahman, Executive Director of Haji, Tuan Haji Khairoddin Ahmad, TH Federal Territory/Selangor Director and Deputy Director of TH Federal Territory.

The ceremony was officiated by YB Senator Datuk Dr. Haji Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs). Also present at the ceremony was YBhg. Datuk Seri Syed Ali Syed Abbas Al Habshee, Chairman of PPZ MAIWP and Tuan Haji Ahmad Shukri bin Yusoff, Chief Executive Officer, PPZ MAIWP.

At a previous Corporate Zakat Ceremony which was held on 15 May 2020 in Putrajaya, TH paid zakat amounting to RM7,994,661.23 for the financial year ended 2019 to the Islamic Religious Council of Federal Territory (MAIWP) Zakat Collection Center (PPZ).
