Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), is a statutory body governed under a special Tabung Haji Act, 1995 (Act 535). It was formally known as the Pilgrims Management and Fund Board established under Act 8; 1969. Primarily TH was setup by the Government of Malaysia to facilitate Muslim community’s savings for the Hajj and Pilgrimage as there was no Islamic Financial Institution at that time.
Today, TH is a well-known as the premiere Islamic financial institution in Malaysia with more than 50 years of experience in deposits, Hajj services & operations and investments. Being the country’s largest Islamic fund manager with more than RM62 billion (2016) funds, TH endeavours to strengthen the economy of the Malaysian Muslims by capitalizing on its available funds and resources.
TH focuses on providing excellent and satisfactorily hajj services to Malaysian pilgrims and its consistent track record has gained world recognition as well as has served a role model of innovative hajj management and Islamic financial services by most Islamic countries in the world.
TH continues to establish its presence in the marketplace, both domestically and internationally by venturing into several investment sectors in accordance with Islamic principles such as plantation, property development and construction, Islamic finance, information technology, oil and gas and hospitality. With a net profit of almost RM3 billion, TH is capable of giving back competitive returns to its stakeholders annually.
TH gains competitive advantage through its innovative services and attractive savings schemes designed to encourage savings and investments. Today, TH has more than 9 million depositors and a network of 125 branches with more than 6,000 touch-points nationwide. TH also makes its presence globally by operating an office in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
